Forest Floor. The original artwork was painted after a walk at Lake Tarawera , the largest lake that surrounds Mt. Tarawera whose eruption devastated the Maori village of Te Wairoa on its shore and destroyed the famous pink and white terraces, one of New Zealand's premier tourist attractions around the 1880's. www.doc.govt.nz is the place to find out more about walks in the area.
